The number of battered wives, former prostitutes, drug addicts, and hurting souls Dr. Eleanore Kue impacts at His Helping Hands Health Clinic is restricted only by the number of hours in her day. No one is turned away from the clinic she founded in 2009 in one of Lansing, Michigan’s roughest neighborhoods.
As a medical doctor, not only does she work to heal broken bones and infections, she also prays with patients and tells them about the Great Physician—the only One who can meet their deepest needs. These prayers gave rise to a weekly Bible study and, eventually, an inner-city church plant.
But Dr. Kue believes God is calling her to do even more. Born in Cameroon, Dr. Kue knew by the end of her second class with the Doctor of Ministry Women’s Cohort at AGTS that God had called her to return to Africa and empower women to become tomorrow’s leaders. “I believe that I was born a leader, but I never had formal training,” Dr. Kue said. “At AGTS, God is shaping me to be a transformational leader.”
